Joana Haedo

I have a degree in Biological Sciences from Universidad Nacional del Sur (Bahía Blanca, Argentina). During my degree, I participated in a research about the pollinators community of native plants in the Ventania System Mountains. Later, I conducted my degree thesis where I evaluated the effect of floral abundance and geographical origin of plant species on stigmatic pollen deposition.

Currently, I am conducting a PhD in Biology at Universidad Nacional del Sur with a scholarship granted by CONICET (National Scientific and Technical Research Council of Argentina). My research focuses on crop pollination service by wild pollinators. I am evaluating how different management strategies on crop edges can increase native pollinator diversity and crop pollination service.

My long-term career goals are to understand how different management strategies on the agroecosystems can improve ecosystems services, specially pollination service. This management would increase crop yield and support native pollinator conservation.
