Hugo Marrero

I have a degree in Biology (Universidad Nacional del Sur) and a PhD in agricultural science (Faculty of Agronomy of UBA). I am currently studying how the improvement of crops edges can help the conservation of pollinators, and the enhancement of the pollination service they provide.

My line of research is related to interactions between plants and insects, mainly pollinators, focusing on the conservation of native species and ecosystem services, such as pollination and biological control. I am particularly interested in estimating the effects of the reduction in abundance and richness of pollinators related to landscape fragmentation or biological invasions. I develop my research at the Center of Natural Renewable Resources of the Semi-Arid Zone (CERZOS), in the city of Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires.
